We have been asked by the Under Secretary of State,

Colonial Office, to make arrangements for the immediate

despatch to Hong Kong of an instructor's equipment, together

with a full set of protective clothing as laid down in

Appendix "C" to Air Raid Precautions Memorandum No.5. The

clothing should consist of 50% of the tropical type and 50%

of the heavy type.

This equipment is required for the use of

Lance Sergeant 0. Bower, Hong Kong Police Force, following

upon his attendance at the Civilian Anti-Gas School, Falfield.

Will you please advise us as to what we should supply for this

purpose and also say whether a demand may be sent to you for

all the items.
